NUS Staff Receive NUSMed Awards 2018

Congratulations to Prof Daniel Tenen and Dr Edward Chow, who were awarded for their research achievements at the NUSMed Awards 2018. The NUSMed Awards recognises and celebrates the success of outstanding commitment and contribution to research, teaching and mentorship.

Prof Tenen and Dr Chow were honoured for their strong and impactful discoveries in cancer research. Prof Tenen, who is Director of CSI Singapore, was awarded Researcher of the Year. His research focuses on gene regulation in normal and leukemic hematopoietic stem cells, and the role of stem cell oncofetal proteins in leukemia and solid tumors, especially liver cancer.

CSI Principal Investigator Dr Edward Chow also received the Young Researcher of the Year award, in particular for his outstanding work on developing carbon-based nanoparticle drug-delivery platforms for enhanced diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
