CSI Singapore would like to congratulate its Principal Investigators, namely Prof. Patrick Tan, Assoc. Prof. Edward Chow and Dr. Tam Wai Leong who are involved in a collaborative effort with the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research’s Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) and Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) and Duke-NUS Medical School.

Awarded with a $25 million grant by the Ministry of Health’s National Medical Research Council, the team will embark on a new five-year programme to uncover biomarkers produced by the body or tumours to create therapeutic approaches to tackle liver cancer. The programme, called Precision Medicine In Liver Cancer Across An Asia-Pacific Network (PLANet 2.0), is a follow-up of its predecessor, PLANet 1.0, which primarily focused on the novel mechanisms underpinning liver cancer.
