CSI Singapore recently exhibited at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023 – the 114th Annual Meeting of the AACR between April 14th to April 19th. Held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, over 15,700 scientific delegates were in attendance. The program embodied the theme of this year’s meeting – “Advancing the Frontiers of Cancer Science and Medicine.” Representatives from CSI Singapore (a mix of PhD students, research fellows and PIs) were present at this year’s meeting to present their selected abstract/talk. Presenters from CSI Singapore included Ms. Julia Sze Lynn Lim, Dr. Phyllis SY Chong, A/Prof. Edward Kai-Hua Chow, Dr. Michal M. Hoppe and Prof. Yoshiaki Ito.
CSI Singapore featured a career booth at the AACR’s Cancer and Biomedical Research Career Fair, which was held on Saturday April 15th. At the 1-day fair, CSI Singapore showcased its CSI Graduate Program, Career Accelerator Postdoctoral Fellowship, Special Fellows Program, and updated career opportunities to interested delegates. With our CSI Singapore PIs also in attendance at the career booth, delegates had the exclusive opportunity to converse with them for a better understanding of CSI Singapore’s unique programs.
In addition, the CSI Singapore team helped to increase the profile of the institute and its global standing as a leading cancer research institute to the conference delegates. For many delegates who had never ventured into Asia, sharing more about ‘Frontiers in Cancer Science’ 2023 (FCS 2023), an annual cancer conference co-organised by CSI Singapore, served as a talking point to encourage prospectives to explore Singapore and its cancer research landscape.
