CSI is proud to have two researchers selected to attend the HOPE Meetings with Nobel Laureates, organised by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 1 – 5 March 2015. Special Fellow Dr Touati Benoukraf and 4th year PhD student Xu Liang are among the 75 candidates carefully chosen across the Asia-Pacific and Africa region to take part in this prestigious meeting in Tokyo, Japan.
The meeting offers unique opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary discussions with Nobel Laureates and other distinguished scientists, with lectures and dialogues on topics ranging from physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine. Other activities include poster presentations, facility tours, as well as research and cultural exchanges among participants in a close, interactive setting.
The title “HOPE” signifies the promise held for scientists and optimism for a bright future in science and technology in this region. Like its name, the meeting aims to inspire participants to become excellent scientists who will drive the future advancement of science and technology.
